The Three Editions

Back in 1982 Peter took up Scuba Diving as a hobby, this became a very large part of his life and after diving for quite a few years he felt he wanted to put back something into the sport, this is when the hard work began and he eventually became a BS-AC Advanced Instructor, all this time Sue helped and supported him in his ventures, also learning to dive herself. Peter is very enthusiastic about diving – especially in the waters around the Maltese Islands.
Shortly after retiring from Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service, in which he served thirty seven years, the last twenty five of them at Royston Fire Station, he decided to write a guide book for scuba divers visiting the Maltese Islands. Once again with the help, support and encouragement from Sue, the first book was launched just before Christmas 2001. Soon after this came on the market they decided to prepare for a reprint, but it soon became clear that they needed to redesign the whole book. After a further six years of planning, photographing and preparing the underwater dive site plans the second book became a reality in 2008. This second edition sold out during the early summer of 2012 after a lot more hard work and with new photographs the third edition was completed.
The third edition was printed at Cambridge University Press buildings week commencing Monday 10th September 2012.
During their time of research, many new friends were made and both Peter & Sue have enjoyed their many visits to Malta & Gozo, discovering something new with each visit, both above and below the water.
